The WOW A800e CR LTD is the limited edition electrified All Solid acoustic guitar by Eko Guitars, with onboard Fishman Flex Blend system. Featuring an Auditorium shape with Solid Cedar, Rosewood back and sides, Mahogany neck and Ebony fingerboard, this guitar is a high-end instrument well suited for the professional doing live performances and studio recording.
A Series with no compromises based on a tonewoods selection from all over the world. WOW, acronym for Wood Of the World Series, but also the exclamation of those who see these guitars for the first time, represents the top of the range of the EKO catalog. Every single guitar is unique and each wooden part is selected from a wide range of fine raw materials such as Cocobolo, Ovangkol, Koa, Rosewood, Sapele, and others. The whole WOW series is All Solid, therefore, with top, sides and back in solid wood, the nature of the wood is enhanced in favor of a particularly specific tone.
For each instrument, Master Luthier Roberto Fontanot carefully selects tonewoods to create masterpieces that will be the joy of every musician. The variety of tonewoods used for back and sides of each individual guitar will give the six strings completely different characteristics in terms of sound.
The choice of the Top fell on the Solid Cedar which, in combination with the Rosewood present on the sides and back, makes the guitar, in Auditorium shape, particularly performing in the modern Fingerstyle, reactive to every slightest percussive impulse and returns a decidedly "WARM" sound despite the small size of the case; reflects the characteristics of lutherie present in the Massimo Varini Signature model which was discontinued a few years ago following the inclusion of Rosewood among the woods subject to attention by CITES.
The Wow A800e CR LTD comes in Natural color with Gloss finish, with Auditorium shape. The combination of a Solid Cedar top with Solid Rosewood back and sides, result of careful research, gives this instrument a very wide tonal spectrum always well balanced on every single string.
A remarkable feature is the presence of the Fishman Flex Blend: a high-performance amplification system consisting of a piezo and an internal condenser microphone, allowing you to capture every nuance of the guitar thanks to the possibility of gradually adding the microphone signal to the piezo signal through a Blend pot. In addition to the output volume and the Blend control, the Wow A800e SZ LTD boasts a Tuner with display (that can be activated by pressing the volume potentiometer) and an EQ control working in "mid-scooped" mode: set it at minimum for a flat signal, then increase it to gradually reduce the mid frequencies enhancing bass and treble, very convenient to get a sound ready for the mix. In case of feedback, a quite common event during acoustic performances, you can invert the phase by pressing the EQ pot.
